Ohio D.A.R.E. Class #75 Welcomes 24 New D.A.R.E. Officers

Ohio D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) welcomed 24 newly certified D.A.R.E. officers from the 75th class trained in Ohio. These officers recently completed their two weeks of training conducted by Ohio D.A.R.E.

The officers are trained in K – 4th Grade, Elementary 5th /6th, Middle School 7th/8th, High School programming, and our Enhancement Lessons – Vaping, Opiates, and other Drugs, “More than Sad” Suicide Prevention, Bullying/Cyberbullying, Gangs and Violence, Role Models, & newly released Social Media lessons.

The D.A.R.E. Officer training is very intense and comprehensive. Officers must attend, participate, and pass classes, hosted by Donna Harrass, Executive Director Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police & Chief Executive Officer Law Enforcement Foundation, in addition to specially trained mentors under the direction of D.A.R.E. Ohio and D.A.R.E. America.

Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police & Law Enforcement Foundation (D.A.R.E. Ohio) serves young people and their families teaching the skills to make positive decisions, provides education on safe and healthy lifestyles and gives the tools to enable them to resist engaging in negative and violent behaviors.
